Folder Dynamic Color dialog. Make selection above.

Dynamic colors provide for the design of widgets, icons, and layouts that automatically adapt thier color to match the user's wallpaper, system theme, or specific conditions such as time of day. This dialog allows users to customize the look and feel of their launcher interface by assigning specific colors to UI elements. It follows the Material You design language, which adapts colors based on user preferences or wallpaper tones.

Each entry in the list corresponds to a semantic color role used throughout the launcher. Here's what they typically control:

ITEM PURPOSE / USAGE
Custom color User-defined override; can be applied to any element manually
Primary Main accent color used for key interactive elements
On primary Text/icons that appear on top of the primary color
Primary container Background container for primary elements
On primary container Text/icons on top of the primary container
Secondary Supporting accent color for less prominent elements
On secondary Text/icons on top of the secondary color
Secondary container Background container for secondary elements
On secondary container Text/icons on top of the secondary container
Tertiary Additional accent color for nuanced UI elements
On tertiary Text/icons on top of the tertiary color
Tertiary container Background container for tertiary elements
On tertiary container Text/icons on top of the tertiary container
Error Color used to indicate errors or warnings
On error Text/icons on top of the error color
Error container Background container for error messages
On error container Text/icons on top of the error container
Surface General background color for surfaces (e.g., cards, panels)
On surface Text/icons that appear on top of surface elements

These would generally be used by:

  1. Tap any color role to open a color picker or apply a dynamic theme.
  2. Use Custom color for full manual control.
  3. Dynamic colors can be synced with your wallpaper or system theme for a cohesive look.
